Exemptions From Directory
Assistance Charges

A Verizon certification indicating a visual or physical disability will give a residential land-line customer (copper or FIOS) an exemption from directory assistance charges.  Be sure to apply for both directory assistance and operator assisted local calling.

You can download an application form from

http://www.verizon.com/about/accessibility/directory-assistance-exemption

or request one by calling

Verizon Center for Customers with Disabilities
800-974-6006

This phone number works for both voice and TTY (for the hearing-impaired).

If you have mobile service, or land-line service from a carrier other than Verizon, check with your carrier to learn how they handle charges for directory assistance calls.
